American Judges

The American Judges Foundation is a nonprofit corporation formed for the purpose of promoting and improving the Judiciary and Justice by providing financial and other support to projects and groups that promulgate these objectives. We have our roots deep within the American Judges Association, which is the largest association for Judges in North America.

AJF dues and contributions allow the Foundation to continue its support of the AJA Law Student Essay Competition. The 2007 competition focused on the theme of the rule of law in times of conflict. Awards for the competition in the coming year will be $3000 for first place, $1500 for second place, and $1000 for third place.

The Foundation will also continue to support the purchase of Professor Charles Whitebread’s Recent Decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court for the attendees at the 2007 conference in Vancouver. This is always one of the highest rated CLE sections of the AJA annual education conference.

We strongly urge that you support the American Judges Foundation with your new or renewing membership. With your help the coming year will allow us to provide additional financial support for education or projects improving the Judiciary and Justice.
