AJA Membership

We know that as a judge your time is limited. We know this because we ourselves are Judges. We are the American Judges Association (AJA) and we have much to offer . . . but you be the judge.

One of AJA,s main purposes is continuing judicial education through programs that provide judges at all levels with an opportunity to hear experts in various fields and to discuss common problems and current topics of interest-in a relaxed atmosphere of friendship and pleasant surroundings. In some states, CLE credits can be earned.

The annual meeting and educational conference, held in such places as Hawaii, Toronto, New Orleans and Seattle, provides fellowship and good times for all. Such topics as sentencing, court security, search and seizure, domestic violence, court management, judicial immunity, medical malpractice, and recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions and trends are discussed*. Social and recreational functions are planned for judges and their families.

*Juvenile violence is now under study

AJA provides a forum for the interchange of ideas vital to all judges.
